6 Best Bonfires In and Around The Cotswolds

It is the time of year for pumpkin lattés, sparklers and getting warm in front of the bonfire. So, if you fancy seeing some fireworks this year, without the potential danger of a DIY job at home, there are many events across the Cotswolds that you can attend. From family-friendly events to dynamic displays, here are some of the best bonfires to get your night off to a bang.


Dursley’s Recreation Ground

Based on Kingshill Road, Dursley’s annual Fireworks will take place on Saturday the 4th this year. It is hosted by the Girlguiding Dursley District, and their chosen charity is Gloucestershire Young Carers, so the entry fee of £6 will be going to a good cause. Fairview Fireworks Party

If you fancy music, food, a full bar, fairground stalls and of course fireworks, this one may be for you. Taking place in Cheltenham Cricket Club on Friday the 3rd there’ll be entertainment for all the family and even an after party in the Pavilion bar. You can buy tickets for £7.50 as the gates open at five o’ clock. However, accompanied children are free. Find out more here.


Cirencester Round Table

Cirencester Round Table Fireworks boast an annual display taking place at Victoria Road Field on Saturday the 4th. As well as the fireworks, there are said to be several family-orientated activities, including a mini fun fair and inflatable slides. Gates open at 5 pm and the bonfire will be lit by ‘Deirdre the Dragon’ at 6 pm. Tickets are £8 on the gate or £7 in advance. Find out more here.


Hillside Brewery

Based in Longhorpe, Hillside Brewery does Bonfire night exactly how you imagine a brewery would accompanied with many craft beers and wine. However, fear not because there are also plenty of soft drinks, food and child-friendly entertainment, such as the fire performer! This takes place on Saturday the 4th, get tickets in advance here.


CACSSA Firework Display

Held by the Civil Service Sports Association, this firework display in Cheltenham is going to a good cause. The entry which can be paid for on the gate is just £6 and under 16s are just £3. This gets you access to a dazzling display, a licensed bar, burgers and even fairground rides. Gates open at 5:30 pm on the 5th November. Find out more here.


Last but not least is this firework display in the Oxfordshire village Kingham. Taking place on Saturday the 4th from 5:30 pm, there’ll be mulled wine and chocolate on hand to warm you up, not to mention live music to keep you entertained. This event is free.
