Gloucestershire Christmas Markets You Cannot Miss

Dec 4, 2017

Christmas is fast approaching and soon enough the day will come to eat, drink and be merry. Until then we all love making the most of the festivities around December. What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by visiting a Christmas market? These are the best ones near you this December.

Gloucester Quays Enchanted Market

If traditional chalets selling delicious food, drinks and gifts are your thing then you’ll love this market. There are different sellers attending every week, so you can make multiple trips and have a unique experience every time.

Make the most of the day by having a skate on the Winter Ice Rink with the family to really get yourself in the Christmas mood. Then take advantage of one of the many drinks stalls or treat yourself to a cake or mince pie.

Until 24th December, 10am-6pm (5pm Sundays), Gloucester Quays

Cheltenham German Market

Roasted chestnuts, gingerbread and Glühwein is what you can expect to find at this continental style market. Situated on the picturesque Cheltenham Promenade, this market is the ideal way to kickstart your December festivities. Boasting around 40 stalls, you’re sure to find some stocking fillers for the family and friends. From hand-crafted jewellery and hand painted goods to clothing and Christmas collectables, it’s unlikely you’ll go home empty handed.

If you’re sick of all the Christmas shopping, don’t worry. You’ll find some of the tastiest festive treats here including traditional German bratwurst and beer.

Until 16th December, 10am- late, Cheltenham Promenade

The Suffolks Christmas Market

If you just can’t get enough of Christmas markets in Cheltenham, make sure to check out The Suffolks festive version of their market. Running right along Suffolk Parade, this market hosts over 90 market stalls from local businesses and you can also make the most of the shops, bars and restaurants that are open as usual in the area.

There will also be a fun fair, children’s entertainer, carol singers and even Father Christmas! You’ll also be helping out a great cause by visiting as this year, The Suffolks Traders have nominated Maggie’s Cancer Care Centre as their charity of choice. They’ll have a stall and a raffle as well as a choir. A fantastic day out for the whole family.

There will also be live entertainment throughout the week and the markets will be set to the backdrop of the stunning town Christmas tree and lights. Recent renovations mean the area is now pedestrianised so it’s perfectly safe for the whole family and you can enjoy the day in comfort and style.
